Would someone please bring back a usable gas can?

UGGH! I was hoping somewhere had real gas cans, I have always said I was going to search Ebay and find them, now I'm hearing this is the case all over? I figured it was just our stupid state's requirment.
When new and they work properly and don't leak they bloat up like a beach ball and roll around in the back of a hot vehicle, then if you use it, and it cools down the next morning it's sucked in hard plastic, try to get five gallons of gas in a collapsed can on a cold morning! I tried blowing them back up like a balloon but I don't have enough hot air or pressure. So I come home with three gallons when I needed five...
Then the vent, that's the worst, I can pee faster than they can pour. I use cans quite often. I've resorted to drilling a hole in the back where the old cans had the snap open vent, and putting a bolt in the hole when not in use. And gutting the nozzle, take the spring and blocker out so it actually comes out without pushing on the nozzle. They pour a lot better with a real vent, not one where the gas comes out, how dumb is that design? But then with just a bolt to seal the vent if it falls over it leaks, have to prop or bungie tie it up in the vehicle.
The one I use for my backhoe I added two feet of garden hose hose clamped to the nozzle so I can get it in the hole before the gas pours all over.

I was going to post a link to The Sportsman's Guide, I knew they have military metal Jerry cans, spout sold separately, for those that like metal cans http://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/getproductcartdata?AdId=984598
And then I saw these! Might be the answer to our prayers! Weird design, and expensive http://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/surecan-5-gallon-gas-can?a=1898278

Wow! Made in the USA! http://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0LE...usa.com//RK=0/RS=UDJTdgOCt9bUb.SoNpwsZ.vBv9s-
Smooth quick flow with no glugging and gas free hands.
Looks like it was featured on the TV show Shark Tank!

The state of gas cans in America is like the worst case of government "improvement" regulations gone wrong imaginable. I've never had as many spills or wasted gas in my life as in the last few years. Every single one of my seven gas spouts broke within about two uses, and all allowed the gas to evaporate out the spout once the (ridiculously engineered) spout broke. So there I was with seven cans and not a one nozzle to secure them. Went to the hardware store and found some super cheaply made replacements that cost $10 each (grrrrr), and those don't screw on right and also leak every time.

Best I can tell this is what the government wants. They want us to be so annoyed by gasoline that we just stop using it I guess. Brilliant.

Holy carp! $45 for a five gallon can???? It better last a lifetime! It still looks like a PITA.

Putting the breather inside the spout was about the stupidest idea anyone ever came up with. Oh, don't want those fumes getting away though!
I've tried gutting the spouts, and that just doesn't work. You end up with more problems than you started with.
Infuriating!
I live off the grid, and go through quite a bit of fuel every month. I've also tried gerry cans, and don't care much for them either.
