Would This Be A Form of Harassment?

Still having trouble at work.
I have one co-worker that will come bag groceries for me and starts bumping me. I move away and she follows and continues bumping me. I have ended up pinned between her and the till because of this. I have had enough. I am ready to quit because of her and the floor supervisor.
The floor super puts off some vibes that you can tell she does not like you. Won't tell me what has been done so I go into work blind on what has been done.
I hurt my back last month and Dr. put me on light duty and the super told people I was faking it.

I just did not want to go to work yesterday, which is weird for me since I normally like my job.

Should I talk to the owners about what is going on or just put in my 2 weeks notice and find another job? Not many jobs around here and I really like the store owners.

Wow how terrible! It sounds like they're trying to bump you right out of your job. YES tell the owners right away. You have nothing to lose seeings as you'll quit if it doesn't stop. Make sure you mention BOTH of them. The owners need to replace them.

Build a "File 13" regarding the actions of the person offending you. I've used that method a few times and it's been successful.

I made a note of each and every time they do something. I kept every note in a file, although you can do it electronically these days. I noted date, time, who else was present [witnesses are always good], what type work I was doing at that time, what the other person did that was wrong, offensive, etc. When I had recorded a large number of incidents that could be confirmed via the mentioned witnesses, I went to the boss and laid it all out on the line. It's very hard for an employer to ignore detailed reports of repeated problems.

Good luck!

Thanks for the file idea Mtn Laurel!

Starting one today. The co-worker who wore the perfume normally does not wear perfume and knows I am sensitive to it. Gives me severe headaches.

TERRY4 I already spoke with the owners. They were not happy.

I agree. Write down every detail. But don't let them see you doing it. Maybe get a small note pad to take in the restroom to write as things happen. This is a horrible situation, that I sure wouldn't put up with. I sure hope the owners will do something about it.

Oh, if you can recall dates and times, start it with some that have already happened. Sending positive thoughts for a fast fix for this situation.

Definitely start with the girl that suddenly started wearing the perfume after the " talking to". ANd I agree, keep this a secret. DOn't let anyone see you doing this, not even the witnesses.

I carry a note pad for other things so my having one will not raise too many eyebrows. Started to keep a list elsewhere.

Owners are watching them closely right now. They need a good reason to get rid of them or these people can sue them for wrongful dismissal. so making notes is a great idea.

Going to give the floor super enough rope and let her get herself.
The owners had put me in charge of a section of the store, well the super pretty much stayed out of it. Now she is butting in and causing confusion. I had my way of doing it and there were no complaints from the owners.

Where I work, I take notes when I am being harassed. However, I take them IN FRONT OF the person harassing me. I let them know I'm taking notes. It has helped prove my case. Plus when people know you are taking notes of behavior towards you, they back off. I haven't had any problems with the person that was harassing me in a while. Glad the owners are helping you. Good luck!

Well looks like I am going to start another file on another co-worker. This person started while I was away on vacation and has been rude and nasty to me since I got back.
The last 2 days I have had to pick up 4 milk crates she has left in the rows. She sits on them while facing shelves. Does not bother me that she does that but leaving them sitting out there while she goes on break or on lunch. I am waiting for one of our elderly customers to trip and fall over one of these, so that is why I pick them up when I find them.

Yesterday she had put 2 movies aside to rent, but did not put a note on them or tell anyone she wanted to rent them. So I put them back on the shelf. She bit my head off when she asked where they were and I told her I put them back on the shelf.

WHo does this person report to?? Is this person "friends" with the other person who disses you?? GOddness. Glad you are not willing to quit yet. Perhaps as this person is new, you can remind this person verbally of what good manners are and illustrate how you should be treated. Might be a newbie testing the waters.
