Would this work as a feeder?

I found this today I'm the shops it was only 49p would this work as a trough style feeder it is meant to be used for a kitchen cupboard tidy whilst chopping veg. It slots on doors and fences type thing I am making part of the coop with pallets so it could be put at the bottom slat. It will be off the floor but not by much.

Yes, it could, but you will have a bit of waste as chickens tend to "kick" their food around.

It might work? It's a little narrow so they'd need to eat from the sides. Won't hurt to try it.

If you can affix it to a wall, it would be good. Mine are similar and I put grit, oyster shell, or fermented feed in them.
