If I thought it was that bad, I would've reported on my cell, right then. I would not have called 911, around here we can dial *OPP, and you will be connected to the closet OPP station to where you are (were a bit rural) and they would help you. You can do this all over Ontario, hence the name Ontario Provincial Police
Maybe they were trying to get away from you

So, if there's a medical emergency, that means you can't stop at all and have to drive recklessly through town and almost hit people? It's a wonder we don't hear more about crashes with these buses. Report it. I got hit by a state bus last May, and the driver had 2 other complaints against her for erratic driving, so she was fired.

Our facility transports inmates to the local hospital every day Monday thru Friday. As fas at the WPP inmates- for our region; we have the "west coast" buses. If we send inmates from our Annex down to the lower classification place which is a few hours away there will be any number of inmates on that bus. Can be 1 to 30 some. Depends on how many are due for a classification change. If there would be 1 inmate that needs to come back- guess what they have the bus to themselves along with the transportation officers. If we have a medical emergency- we don't pull over- we call an emergency on the radio and the cell phone. And they will be waiting for us at the hospital with the bed and our restraints.

As a transporter/driver, is it not your duty to see to the safety of your passenger as well as the public? Don't you have an ethical duty to report safety concerns and then let the chips fall where they may if it WERE a true emergency?

Side question....does a prison bus have any sort of flashing light/noise ability if the need arrises to drive beyond the legal speed limit to alert those around them for safety purposes?

Obviously everyone is going to have their own thoughts and opinions about this topic. I'm not a snitch and wouldn't call the police to report a speeder, especially if I was speeding- I'm just as guilty as the one who was driving the bus then. People speed whether people are around to witness it or not. No one can protect the entire world themselves. If you broke a law you are no better then the next person.

Itsy. Our buses don't have any special lights or sirens, just internal speaker and push to talk microphones.

As a person who works for public transit, I say report it. It is unsafe for others on the road. He may or may not lose his job. If someone reports one of our drivers, they are put back through driver training and safety training. Second time they lose their jobs.
