I don't know why she is doing this, maybe someone else that has had a duck with an injury simiular to yours will be able to help you there. Glad to hear you took care of the fly problem. Thats all you can do now is give her supportive care, keeping her wounds clean and making sure she is eating and staying hydrated. They are amazing animals can can make complete combacks from the brink pretty quick too. I imagine she is in pain and probably still shoky so it may take a while till you see alot of improvement. I am going to see if you can give ducks baby aspirin, not sure. Be back Aspirin dosage usually recommended on BYC, it's 5 regular (325 mg) aspirin (NO SUBSTITUTES) crushed per gallon of water. (or 1 and 1/4 aspirin per quart). Or 1 baby aspirin (81 mg) per cup of water - just be sure you're using pure aspirin and nothing else. And don't mix anything else in the water at the same time without first checking to see if okay.
found this in the BYC archives. you have to be extremely careful what you give water fowl, they are very sensitive to meds.
