Just processed 26 cornishX today at 8 weeks. These girls are huge. Averaged 5.5 dressed. One long day - first time and we learned a lot. First 15 took 3+ hours and the next 11 took 1.5. Tonight will be a very contented sleep!!
 
wow, that is incredible timing... our first 6 took 3 hrs! the next 20 we are going to split over 2-3 days. your set up must be enormous to accomodate that many big birds at once!!! how did ya do it??? that is just great.. i need your advise!


ok... just realized what we did different that took so much longer...we hand plucked... gotta see your gizmo! PLEASE!

That's exactly it - we took a 8" long pc of PCP pipe, bonded a end on it, cut slots for the bungi cords, put a 1/2" bolt throught the end plate and mounted in a variable speed drill. We made a right angle bracket and mounted that to the wall and then the drill to the bracket.

We did find out that the water temp and time in the tub were essential to it working well. You have to keep the water around 150 and swish them in the water for at least a full minute to a minute and a half. That's longer than it feels, so count or have a timer. You still have to do a little hand plucking, but not much.
