Congratulations on the new layer. That’s a great looking egg. I’m still waiting on my Easter pullets to lay but I feel like a least one is really close. Yesterday she joined in and sang along while the older girls were singing the egg song but I haven’t found any eggs that don’t belong to any of the known laying girls.

Them first eggs are always exciting. Where I see them start spending time in the nest box, I go all stalker on them...

I took a few too many of Roady (BA) and her 5 just because she's so approachable but still unsure who's who. There's one that I'm seeing an odd comb on that I'm second guessing. If rose comb is dominant, it could be a BCM x SLW. I'll try grabbing pics of each one tomorrow.

Found another pullets egg on coop floor this morning.

Tried cleaning it up and rubbed too hard in spots.
Wet....

Dry....

How is the broody breaking going?

Angel broke for the most part. She still acting broodyish (clucky puffy) but she isn't going back into the nest box. She's roosting at night. Black is in cage and Raven is acting like she wants to go broody again, she layed 2 days ago but been hanging near the other 2 broodys like she wants to steal their eggs, but won't enter so I'm blocking off the eggs when broody comes off the nest.

Summary....mass chaos.
