This are some good looking dark eggs! I don't know about the bloom bit, but that's cool you have an egg layer giving you different finishes.No I don't technically. And she's the first one I've had that throws both. I would like to learn the genetics of it, tho.
Hopefully someone much more experienced can shed light on the egg...
I do know that duller, matte finish is less desired for SOP. They want a shiny gloss with complete color thru out the egg, so I'm not there yet.
By only hatching from my darkest layers to a rooster that came from a dark egg, the eggs will get darker with each generation.
Joannie, Angels and Betty's pullets are close to POL, so game time is here. If they lay darker than their mothers this tells me Kong came from a dark egg.
