What Id really like is a couple Fibro EE's, but they were pricey last time I checked.I'd like one that lays eggs...![]()

I hear that! My original OE is 3 1/2, she lays 3-4 army green eggs with speckles a week, I got another OE last year, she started laying at about 17 weeks, laid for about 3 weeks then went broody, she hatched 6 chicks, I sold them at 4 weeks old, she started laying about a month later, same thing 3 weeks then went broody, she isn't even 9 months old yet and her current chicks are 5 weeks oldI'd like one that lays eggs...![]()

I'm looking forward to making Wheaten-split to lavender OE's next yearI've never had an OE yet, still on my "need to have one day" list!
I bet they are going to be pretty. I have 1 little satin Wheaten pullet. I don't know if I'll breed her, I think she'll mostly just be a pretty little one to look at.I'm looking forward to making Wheaten-split to lavender OE's next year

Interesting, I don't understand the genetics surrounding them but I think they'd be super pretty also.I bet they are going to be pretty. I have 1 little satin Wheaten pullet. I don't know if I'll breed her, I think she'll mostly just be a pretty little one to look at.
I have an Isabel Ameraucana cockerel (lavender wheaten) and I'll hatch eggs from my Wheaten Marans, they will all come out Wheaten but they'll be split to lavender. I've got so many breeding plans for next year, I just can't waitInteresting, I don't understand the genetics surrounding them but I think they'd be super pretty also.

It means they carry lavender and if I was to breed a daughter back to her father I would get wheaten and Isabel chicksWhat does the "split to lavender" mean?
