Writing goals

Ok, here you go. Not really a list I was thinking of, but it covers it. It's from Point of View by Marcy Kennedy (Yes... I have a chicken named after this author... don't judge). It gives an example, which I tend to find easiest to learn from. These are all third person. (I'm thinking there was a clearer list somewhere, but I'm not sure which book it was in. I thought it was this one.)

I meant that as a compliment! I like thoughts! I'm stuck with too many in my head so I like seeing what others think about!
I had a point to prove with her...

Just because you don't speak doesn't mean you don't have things you want to, or should, contribute

Question.

For those of you that use 3rd person close, do you write the thoughts of the character in italics, or do you work it into the text? For example…

NC_Quail looked at the sky. Thick black clouds were approaching. It’s going to rain, she thought.

Vs…

NC_Quail looked up at the sky. Thick black clouds were approaching. It was probably going to rain.

Are you opinionated one way or the other?
I like the first one. The first one also sounds like something Clouds would write.

I vaguely remember reading one of your paragraphs about Thing, and I think the word "Cloud" there tripped it.
I honestly couldn't tell if you were talking about my writing or trying to make a Cloud joke 😭

I forgot how much of my writing each person has read, how much have you personally seen of Thing?

Barely any, actually. Only what you've written here and in the prompt thread since you dragged me in.
