That is such a good sign!
-Kathy
i have actually noticed he's not NEAR as scared as he used to be!! i felt so sorry for him when i'd have to "chase" him down to catch him bc i was afraid his little heart couldn't take it (even though i don't actually CHASE my birds...i felt any extra work on his heart might be too much, if that makes sense). but he is a LOT calmer now!! the girls are even calmer than before!!!Congrats. You're gonna notice a few side effects from all of this hard work. That little roo knows you saved his life. He won't forget that. He'll probably follow you around, and in general be a more loyal companion than a dog. My RIR roo wasn't sick, but I pulled him from a dog's mouth. Friendliest bird you ever will meet. The one before that (mixed breed) came to me with both legs broken. I splinted, he healed. Again, he was one super friendly roo.
Ms. Kathy, I was afraid of the "sometimes they get better and then die anyway" mentality and was really hopin' all his crowing meant he was getting better - for the good - and not just temporarily!! He was just crowing again while ago!! At 9:45 at night! haha I sure am glad I got that little crow back! I can't thank you all enough for everything!! I have learned SOOOO much through all of this and it's all because of ya'll. Thanks Ms. Kathy for the phone support as well!! I never thought I could learn to tube feed a chicken just from watching a video and being guided over the phone!! haha But I did and you saved my little Benny's life!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
