I have a cochin chick that hatched today, but it's neck is constantly held wrapped under his chest. He doesn't seem to be able to lift his head - and his head also seems a bit small. Everything I've read on wry neck says that it's when a chick's neck is bent BACKWARDS - this one is bent forwards. Is it the same thing? If I give him vitamins for a few days, but he still can't lift his head, I don't think he will ever be able to eat

Hello slackwater,

I have a chick who got wry neck a few days ago and its neck is bent sideways. I cannot afford to purchase Polyvisol at the moment so I am treating it with crushed children's vitamen and Vitamen E gel caps 3 X a day. It does seem to be improving, as I had a hard time figuring out which one it was this morning after 2 days of treatment. However, here is a good link for you to look at: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=1076331 . Hope it helps!!
