X-Mas Tree

OMG...OMG...OMG...I came home from work today to find Christmas music blaring, fresh tree all decorated in the front room and lights all over the outside of the house. Oh....and I got an early Christmas present too....an energy drink and a Coors light...

We're planning to put ours up this weekend. Hoping for no wind and bearable temps for us to put up the pine garland around the porch and the lighted nativity too. As kids our tradition was to put the tree up on the weekend closest to Dad's bday (13th) and take it down on the weekend closest to Mom's bday (31st) so I've stuck with that.

We always get real trees, but not from a farm. We live in rural KY, so we just drive until we find a tree that we like, ask the owners of the land if we can have it, and bring home a tree. We usually do this about a week before Christmas( in 2 days

) because the room we put our tree in has a fireplace, so the tree can't stay for long, or it gets dried out.

ours is going up this weekend as long as i can get tidy, housework has gone to pot a bit since i started working fulltime. if it wasnt for the grandkids id just have the tree but ive always put a xmas scene up its grown a bit each year houses that were my nans and little people and a church I let the kids put out all the trees and people which of course they need to move around every time they come. I cant ever remember a xmas without those houses and church, Im 46 and i asked my mum when did my nan first get them she cant remember if it was just before i was born or my sister. the little village is a family tradition now Mums of courses is all fancy with street lights and posh pot houses, me and my sis usually do 2 each one for the kids and the pot one with the more expensive characters and we add something new each year i really should start now lol
Happy Christmas to all
Joanne xx
