We are still in shock over it!

My DH's cousin that was our trainer was trying to talk him into taking one that was identical to this one (in looks and size) but something kept telling us not to. Good thing we didn't...we now have four horses.

When, this time last year, we had no immediate plans of getting any. They add up quick, and yeah, we're already thinking of how much the feed and hay is going to be this winter! We also have to get the dentist out, and have our rescue thoroughbred's thyroid rechecked.

We are all really excited, though. We really felt a connection with him at the event, and he responded to us, over everyone else. I am a firm believer in your animal choosing you, whether it's dogs, cats, horses, or whatever. If you try and force it, it just doesn't work. I can't wait to get on him and ride! We have to wait to pick him up til DH gets back from out of town, because he wants to go, too! LOL! So...we are on pins and needles here. I may go see him on my own this week...just to reacquaint myself with him.

I think Scout just hates men.

She'll tolerate my dh, and the boys are ok, but she never acts up when a woman is on her back. She was very happy to get back home. I'm going to put some more weight on her and just start slow with her.

We'll see how it goes!

How awesome! He is a beauty! We are up to 3 horses, and 2 of them are not broke to ride.

Oh, well, I have a big heart. My filly hates men too. I will definitely have to find a woman trainer when the time comes.
