I kind of figured that's what it would look like, but haven't seen that on any of mine and I think I've probably used Safeguard (fenbendazole) in more than 100 birds that were molting. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that one should worm during molt, but with mine I figured that the health benefits outweighed the risks.
If she were mine I would worm her. Better to have a live bird with funny feathers than a dead one, right? If you can, take some of the yellow poop to a vet and have them check it for worm eggs, coccidiosis, blackhead, bacteria and yeast.Thank you. I was going to worm since they are not laying right now and one of them has yellow runny poop. She is not molting as much as the others. I am worried about her as I lost one a few months ago who started with this symptom. She is my favorite chicken.
Can you post a picture of her poop? What antibiotics do you have? Are you willing to tube feed fluids? My Lisa is worse today. I can't get de wormer or take her poop to the vet till tomorrow. I have her inside and have offered goat yogurt, AC vinegar and feed. She ate a tiny bit of yogurt but not interested in eating. Is there anything else I can do? My other question is, should I have the light on, ot off and let her sleep, even though it's daytime. I'm so worried; she is a very special chicken.
