Yellow runny poop... ?

I would weigh all birds, dust all birds, worm all birds, then re-weigh in a week and if any have lost weight or look off, treat them with metronidazole.

@Zimparellis , I'm always trying to add dosing info to my mental database, so do you mind telling us how much Panacur your vet prescribed? Amount in cc's or ml's is fine.

@casportpony

Do the other girls get the same dosage of panacur--I realize I have 100ml here -- enough to share with the flock. Thanks in advance...

If they are about the same weight, yes. You said your hen was slightly under 5 pounds, right? So I think your vet was aiming at 50mg/kg.

I'm really anal/ocd about weighing and dosing, so I would weigh each one on a kitchen scale in kilograms and do the math. If you need help, let me know how much each one ways and I'll figure out their doses. If you think they're about the same and you don't feel like weighing all of them, just give them what you're giving the sick one.

Thought I should add that I think giving the others the wormer at 50mg/kg once a day for five days should be fine and I would encourage you to call your vet and ask her what she would do. Most people here worm just once, then repeat in 10 days, but there are some that do it once a day for 3-5 days. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying your vet is wrong, I'm sure she has a reason for the twice a day dosing, I'd just like to know what it is.

I've had label instructions that recommend dosing for 3 days in a row. I think it depends on worm load. It wouldn't hurt to worm 3 days, then do a single worming ten days later for any eggs that may hatch. Tablets make it so much easier, and water treatments even easier than that. The only water treatment wormer I've seen that's worth it is Wormout gel. It disperses in water well and doesn't settle in water like others do.
