Yes I admit we do if you're including feed and shavings etc. We're working on getting out of debt so right now if its not needed for us or the animals then we basically don't get it.

Currently yes. (In hopes that once I get my flock to my ideal size I stop running all over the midwest trying to get birds.)

Probably if you include things like bedding food and such. As for the actual price of birds we've been very lucky and blessed we've spent maybe 50-60$ on thirty birds. We were given 5 birds and are picking up another gift of rare color English Orpingtons and hopefully cream legbar in Gurnee tomorrow.
