Yet Another Chicken Coop!

I installed the door for the first run today, and screwed on the panel for the second run. Trying to figure out how to get around a small tree i would like to keep for shade .

I may have to build crooked, i will have to take another look.

Wow, that is so great. I love your wooded setting. It sounds like heaven where you live. I am from PA originally but I didn't fully appreciate all the woods and countryside while I lived back there. Just took it all for granted. After moving to So Cal, I sure got a wake up call. Now I wish we had acres of forested land on a dirt road. But alas, here is So Cal, housing prices are excessive, so all we could manage is a small cottage on a 1/4 acre. But at least it is in the forest and not the desert. Keep up the good work and I hope your back is better!

Hey WW, how is your flock doing? I remember your build. Are you ready to build another one yet?

They are fine. We lost one chicken during the evacuation but the other 10 seem unfazed by the whole thing. The animal shelter took excellent care of them!

LOL! There will be no more coop building for us. The only thing I need to do is build some sort of brooder coop. I might make one out of a child's playhouse. I would like something I could put up and take down. Will have all winter to think on that!

This is looking really good. Do you cover it in hardware cloth? are any posts dug into the ground or do you build it all on the surface?

I also live down a dirt road that connects with a backcountry road. And the dirt road just kind of ends in the woods. Seems that Virginia has a lot of dirt roads. At least on my way. That’s looking awesome so far! Just finished putting the last of the fencing out for my run expansion yesterday. I guess it’s the coop building time of year
