YO GEORGIANS! :)

By the way, my sister MIGHT be with me tomorrow. Not sure yet. I asked her to take me to TSC so I could pick up a bale of hay, and several packs of pine shavings, plus a big bag of lime to treat the chicken pen. If she wakes up early enough, I'll just have her stop by your place and get the eggs, and then hit TSC in Griffin. If not, I may drive myself to get the eggs, and then go with her later on to McDonough TSC to get the other stuff.

This might seem like a dumb question, what do you mean by using Lyme to treat the chicken pen? I'm very very new to this...

It makes the chickens' tequila taste better.

Oh sure... No @roboduck. I see how it is. This AND carcar drive right by without stopping to say hi. This AND I am married to GAM. Really? What did I ever do to deserve this?

You guys are pitiful; if it helps any, I got lost in thoughts of quail -and wondering about design specs on that new pen of yours...

Yep, seems pretty clear that I have the Robo-taint.

Not possible. I'd be grateful if you could list materials/specs for that fancy raised pen you guys built; I think that's what I've been trying to wrap my head around for quail. Are you putting a box in it for shelter, or enclosing from the outside?

My project list keeps growing and growing.... an extension to the rabbit barn, a quail pen, and a second turkey coop (because they *will* give me eggs, i know they will)... I think I'd better buy more feed and a few lottery tickets too.

I have to admit it... I bought it. It's a nice comfortable height. The cage part is 3' x 8'. It's divided in the middle with a door for each side. It's pretty well built and was almost too much for me to unload out of my truck alone and then maneuver it into the building. I am thinking about getting a material list together and building some.

The lime helps keep the bad poopy smell down, since the rain likes to keep it wet. And March usually is the bad storm season in GA.

Hi all!! I spent all day yesterday trying to finish the coop. Everything is complete except the netting on the top. I will do that today. New chickens will be here at 830 this am. I'm so tired, ugg. Our SUV broke down and hubby had to work on it all day. But, I'm ready and excited. Still don't know what to do with the ducks?????? I have had chickens before but not ducks.can they live in the pen with the chickens when they are old enough????
