YO GEORGIANS! :)

I have these dang trees that flower white but have these huge freaking thornes on them. Last one that got and that's it, chained sawed the dang things and now it's giving me great joy to,burn the h e l l out of them.

Bradford pear.  Hate those things.

Yes yes that is what they are, I couldn't think of it. OMG some have six inch spikes on them. I cut them all up as high as I could reach, all the way around. They tear my husband up when he mows. I even ripped out a rouge rose bush. Told my DH, that's it, I'm sick of getting tore up, so no more anythings with thorns in our yard. I do love the the trees And only took out those that had real bad ice damage. Now they are pruned up high. Now it will just be maint. To keep the, that way.

Bradford Pears don't have thorns. They suck for other reasons though. Plum and crabapple trees, however, can produce tire puncturing thorns.

Buy a dimmer cord at the hardware store ($10 or less). Adjust to any level of heat output instantly without moving it. As far as a regular light bulb vs a red bulb, a regular light bulb would surely disrupt their sleep schedule even more than the red does. I swapped out the red for a ceramic heat emitter after a few days and they sleep much better now (che is a coiled ceramic heat bulb that is made for the same heat lamp sockets but does not emit any light, just heat). Is that bedding aspen? Looks like what I am using.
Where can I find a ceramic heat thing? I have never seen one like that before. Great ideas and thanks for all the input. For now I am using the pine bedding from the big bag you get from tractor supply(yellow bag). I will be switching them over to sand soon. The straw looking stuff was what was in the box they were shipped in. They like to sit on it.

So they entered the mail stream at about 6pm eastern time. Not bad. Coming from California, they typically give it about 2 days of flying.

Meanwhile, I'm waiting on a screen cover to be turned in to UPS in hopes of us finding the escaped tree frog somewhere in the house...

I'm eating lunch. :D

I'm getting so excited about my hatch, and I'm also actually interested to see what my eggtopsies will show (have a few I feel sure will be, hopefully no more than that though.)

Hubby is in charge of my temp today- thank goodness he's off or else I would've stressed all day- it got a lot wonky last night after candling, was up at 1a and 3a to check it.

He has even stuck his OWN extra thermometer down through one of the vent holes, I'm so proud of him. ;)
