I can tell the difference in the chicks I have raised versus the adults I have bought.. much more agreeable to being handled.. I just looked and I think I have a couple of barred rock babies too.. you could mix and match some. They won't be laying age till probably Decemberish.. so that is something to consider. Just let me know.. no pressure.. just offering the chick option

Thanks, y'all! Dh and I decided that we're going to go with some pullets to start off with, and when we are more experienced, we will try some chicks. We don't really have the set up for chicks right now, either. I'm going to go to the feed/seed store in Jackson today (we're at the lake for the week), and see if they can recommend someone to me. Thanks for all the advice.
