The original poster for this group hasn't been back over here in a while.... Since that time, there has been a search engine developed for members by BYC and There are now 14 pages of BYC members for Georgia!!! wow! If you want to see all the Georgia members, then you could go to search under User list and scroll down for Georgia and you'll see them...

If anyone of you wants to volunteer to keep a member list of this group, we could start one and then that person could post updates periodically....

So nice to see Yo Georgians keep growing!!!!

, what is your worst predator for your hens and eggs? DH looks at me like I'm crazy when I tell him that he needs to make the run and coop more secure.

I have a snake problem. The oak snakes are small enough to go though the chicken wire, and big enough to kill chicks up to 3 months old. One even killed a broody and her 2 chicks. I bought hardware cloth to put around the cages, hanging up moth balls in water bottles, and getting some guineas.

It's hawks for us. Came home yesterday to a pile of feathers but thankfully all were okay. We've owned chickens for a little over a year now and have lost two bantams to a hawk. We just recently had two chicks disappear during the day as well as a few un-seen attacks on the bigger girls. I guess there's not much you can do when you let them free-range. We've never lost any while being cooped in for the night and our coop has hardware cloth instead of chicken wire.

Hi from Ga. To farmerChef you'd be about 8 miles away we had oak snakes a few years ago. went out and got some goats and sheep and you can't find a snake anywhere. You probably have seen me on Craigslist . Good Luck if you ever need anything contact me.

Albany area, but in the country.

Have two Black Copper Marans pullets I am trying to spoil. And daughter wants a Mille Fleur D'Uccle chick to raise.
