YO GEORGIANS! :)

Buckeyes are supposed to be good mousers (and darn near everything else from what we've read). Sure do wish I could remember where Robo ordered his from.

I didn't have any bathroom or kitchen babies ( hubby would have had a heart attack) but I did spit one out on New Year's Day. We always celebrated his birthday at the stroke of midnight. Kid was 8 years old before he realized all those people in Times Square and the ball dropping were not celebrating his birthday.

I just started on Herbalife for weightloss and have shed 8# in 3 weeks so far. I can't exercise due to my muscle disease so I'm not walking for exercise yet. Just taking care of my zoo! BTW my name is Grammie for my grandson...my daughter's preference :)

What is up with the weather? I am trying to not complain because so many friends up north are dealing with snow but goodness it seems like the weather is toying with us here. Plus, I have eggs in the mail and I am worried!

It's not the cold that gets me. It's not the heat either. It's just the fact that mother nature can't make up her fricking mind!

Since it has been forever since I posted anything on here, I thought I would show my new baby chicks.
About 2 and a half weeks ago, I bought 8 Ameraucana and 4 Dixie Rainbow chicks from TSC.
Also 1 week ago I had some of my baby chicks hatch and then the rest hatched a few days ago. All together had 16 out of 19 hatch, but unfortunately today one of my chicks died.

These are the Ameraucana and Dixie Rainbow chicks.

So off topic but I saw you guys talking about babies born in bathrooms and had to laugh that 2 of mine are kitchen babies! Birthing at home was so much better than in the hospital for me! LOL

My mom nearly had my brother on the way to the hospital years ago.

Yeah, I am sick of the cold! I'm ready for sunshine but not extreme heat. I've had problems with mail items sitting at a post office in North Atlanta a few times. Hope you get your eggs soon and they are ok.

Question 1: With the cats...how do you keep them from harming the chickens.

Most full-grown large-fowl chickens will stand up to a cat. But just to be sure, you can get a kitten so the chickens aren't scared of it hardly at all. The first time one of them fluffs neck feathers at the cat/kitten, the chase game is over - for good!

Although if full-grown cats, and bantam chickens, are your only hope, go with a broody hen. Problem solved!

These are the chicks I hatched.
Surprisingly, most of them were black with yellow on them.

^ This is the little guy that died.

He couldn't walk right and he wasn't eating, but at least he is not suffering anymore.
