YO GEORGIANS! :)

Yea, but we have more than an enough. An achre I think. If that how its spelled. So we have to cut it back every year. Especially around the coop. You used to not even be able to see the darn thing before we got it together.
Yep it's terrible. Ours has taken over several fruit trees before we even realized (it was here when we moved, we didn't know it was like that so didn't keep a close eye). It's probably taken over at least an acre in our side, plus spreading on our neighbor's property as well. :/

The six baby Buff Orpingtons are really growing fast !! Not as fast as the baby ducks, but Fast!! Im hoping they are all pullets like I was told but only time will tell if they are, if so, I will be on the look out for a Buff Rooster later this summer if someone has one they want to get rid of or sell. the five game hens are doing well and calming down. One is more trusting of me than the other four.

I'm going to bet that I've got several roos in the chicks I've hatched from my BO this spring, so you're set for the summer. oh,and Mr. Zoo and I would love to go in on the cost of a whole cow. Add us to the loop!

Now that I've gotten out of bed and looked around...

I've got three BLRW chicks. It appears that two of them will be BLUE laced, and the third is splash-laced. The fourth chick died, and I feel horrible about it. I woke up for a moment around 8:30, and he was zipping then. So he was almost out, but DEFINITELY ready for it! But something went wrong and the liquid began to bubble up and create a foam, and he became glued and stuck. If I had gone ahead and taken him out at 8:30, he probably would have been fine. But I didn't, and he passed away while I slept in. GRR! But I do have three chicks out of the four eggs that abmaddox gave to me, so those are very good odds.

And in other news.... TODAY I STOP TURNING THE GOOSE EGGS!!! YAY!

All three of the eggs from the user sandiklaws here on BYC, are still showing signs of life. Today I will turn them ONCE, and give them a 15-minute cool/mist period. And then, it's sit back and wait! Good lord I'm jumping inside of my own skin with the excitement for these babies!

And soon after that, both Robo and abmaddox should have cotton-patch geese hatching. IT'S GOOSE SEASON! And I may see about ordering some more from Sandiklaws this weekend, depending on the distribution of my paycheck.

Yeah, I have LF Cochins and I don't think the cats would bother them but I would worry about the silkies. Getting a kitten makes sense until, like you said, I have chicks. Maybe when it warms up more I'll try the kitten...can't keep one in the house 'cause my son's allergic.

I'm allergic too, so my kitties were raised outside. If getting cats, I'd definitely advise getting kittens. It will make training them with chickens so much easier.

ok I completely feel like an idiot now

It's ok, I didn't get it either

I LOVE using bamboo for roost poles. Plus it helps get it off my land! LOL
That is such a boring route to take.

Just get yourself a panda! Problem solved. And it solves the problem in China with Pandas disappearing because their main food source (bamboo) is disappearing. Check it out, best of both worlds!
