Actually, this lady loves her chickens like her children. She has gone to great lengths to protect Rudy. She goes far and beyond the normal chicken keeper with her chickens. She knows an incredible amount about chickens and genetics. Chickens are her passion. Please don't think of her as cruel. Her research can benefit people in countries where it is too hot and humid for the normal chicken.

Hey all! I guess it takes a nekkid roo to get me to post on here!

We've been busy with the nice fall weather, and the 2 year old who is into everything. Chicks have grown into decent looking creatures, but it have to admit that I'm not a fan of my Barred Rocks. They have a bit of attitude. We'll see. If they don't grow out of it, it's the freezer for them! I have no problems butchering them, I just don't want to deal with the mess.

Our new neighbor moved in, and she has chickens! Yay! A kindred spirit. She even has a roo, and we could hardly hear him this morning. Guess what I'm asking for Christmas now (since Foghorn, the neighbor roo, proved they're not so bad)? My Jersey Giant roo! I know it's a long shot with DH, but I want one BAD. His name will be Mycroft, and I will love him. Or eat him if he's a jerk.
