YO GEORGIANS! :)

I let my hen and turkey hatch out chicks. Have never gone the incubator route. I don't need that many chickens. In fact I will probably end up with too many turkeys as the hen is mating again. She just raised 6 chickens. Good mama.

That's great!!

Well I'll be.. This little thing appears to be stable. Good sign it's still alive anyway, and when I shone the light on it this time it let out a BIG squeak. And it's having normal sleeping-chick movements.. Eyelids, feet etc.

@Flowerbh, this is reminding me SO much of your chicks, and I hope that's how it will end! I can remember you posting those pics and me thinking, "she's crazy! Those things ain't gonna live!" :lau

I have one jake too many now and the hen looks like she is getting ready to lay eggs in the near future. They are midget whites. I'll only let them go where they can free range.

My birds all free range yeah!!! I open the pen in the am and when they go to bed is when I close it, sometimes I forget to close the door.

So our chickens really like yellow squash. I was holding whole squashes out and they were like piranhas attacking a capybara. It's a good thing they don't have teeth or I would have lost a lot of blood. Apparently they often had difficulty differentiating between the squash and my fingers. But don't worry, I'm OK. I know you were all on the edges of your seats worrying if I had sustained injury.

Oh.... and I KNOW y'all already are but JUST IN CASE...... you have but a mere few hours to put the finishing touches on my anniversary party. February 8th makes one full year I have blessed you all with my presence. Just let me know where to show up for the party and I'll pretend to be surprised.
