YO GEORGIANS! :)

@Jdduck did your kids get to see any hatch? The first year I started hatching I couldn't sleep because of jumping up to look at the eggs. I woke the kids up (upon their request) to see hatching. After the first time I'd get up because of peeping and find one of the kids already holding the flashlight on the bator trying not to wake up Daddy!

Yes my little one did get to see the last one hatch. She loves to play with all the babies. My oldest daughter is hovering over the incubator now waiting on a duckor turkey to hatch. One duck piped during the night so they might get to see one today.

Good gracious, y'all. You will not BELIEVE this dang chick I assisted. It has been hanging by half a thread since minute one. Long story short, I KNEW it would be dead this morning. It was still breathing but not moving. We were going to watch a movie so I thought, I'll just unplug the bator and let it drift off.

Ten minutes later I hear LOUD cheeping and crashing around. This thing is crazy pitiful/amazing. I asked hubby if he would cull it for me and he said yes, but why don't you just give it the day. Against my gut, here I am.

I moved it to a brooder on its own. It is STILL attached to the shell. I wasn't sure it could see but have decided I think it can. In fact it can actually sit back on its hocks now and hold its head up for several seconds at a time. Toes are curled though. :/

Wouldn't you know it, at TSC the other day I HAD a pack of vitamins in my hand and put them back? I thought, why in the world would I need these.. I never have??

Does anyone know if walmart sells chick vitamins? May have to go all the way to TSC for some.

I've used Gatorade a few times for chicks when I was out of vitamin/probiotic powder.
