YO GEORGIANS! :)

Good morning all. Carcar becky uses sugar water. N bam they usually all better. I've even heard people using dilluted Gatorade.
Thanks!! Yeah I've been dropping some sugar water just feel like maybe an extra boost? Never heard of Gatorade but we always have that here. I'll try that now!!

I'm back on the fodder seed research.

Is clover and alfalfa as nutritious for hens? I know it's good for rabbits, guinea pigs, etc
Alfalfa is excellent! Don't know much about the clover. Have you been to the fodder thread? Also, google The Chicken Chick. She has excellent information about fodder. I am going to the Event in McDonough this weekend and can bring you some barley seed if you want. PM me.

Good gracious, y'all. You will not BELIEVE this dang chick I assisted. It has been hanging by half a thread since minute one. Long story short, I KNEW it would be dead this morning. It was still breathing but not moving. We were going to watch a movie so I thought, I'll just unplug the bator and let it drift off.

Ten minutes later I hear LOUD cheeping and crashing around. This thing is crazy pitiful/amazing. I asked hubby if he would cull it for me and he said yes, but why don't you just give it the day. Against my gut, here I am.

I moved it to a brooder on its own. It is STILL attached to the shell. I wasn't sure it could see but have decided I think it can. In fact it can actually sit back on its hocks now and hold its head up for several seconds at a time. Toes are curled though.

Wouldn't you know it, at TSC the other day I HAD a pack of vitamins in my hand and put them back? I thought, why in the world would I need these.. I never have??

Does anyone know if walmart sells chick vitamins? May have to go all the way to TSC for some.

Childrens Polyvison??....whatever, without iron is an excellent choice.

This is amusing.. Just found the Heron eating this at the water's edge.. As I said on fb, "I think there's a lesson for all types here.." LOL!!

My boy. Hes a phoenix. Sadly lost last year. To the neighbors stupid dog!!!. Everyday he's missed. I thought on getting another one. But I can't replace him. Becky and I rescued him n two hens he was in little chicken cages . Two years everyday hearing him crow. Eating carrots . Being his goofy self. I miss him . We raise them outta love for them .

I would normally never even ask such a question, but for real though. Can I finally just clip this shell off this chick!? It definitely doesn't look to be transferring anything at this point..

I feel like putting him with the others would help immensely but I can't with this shell hanging off. I have some iodine I could dip it in.. If I cut it far away from his belly?
