Does anybody here in the northeast Ga. Area have any barred rocks for sale? I am in Royston. Close to athens,commerce,Toccoa etc..

I only have chicks but my rooster and two of the hens are barred rocks. I am in hartwell so we are not that far apart but you might have to wait awhile

I was always confused on the EE/AM thing too, and flower broke it down simply here not long ago..

It's all based on color. Any EE can have the pea comb, slate legs, muffs etc.. BUT, in order to be an Ameraucana the color has to breed true. So EE may have all the characteristics of an AM, but if the color doesn't breed true it's an EE.

I hope that makes sense. I don't know all the recognized (or at least true) AM colors, but some are blue/black/splash, lavender, wheaten, blue wheaten.. You get the idea.

He is Gorgeous! Is he a Silver Ameraucana? Thank you. I love him.I'm not sure about him being a Silver Americauna. I rescued him and five other hens. 1 Leghorn, JG, 2other I am not sure if the breed. They guy told me a RIR

I'm no expert on the breed. I did find a picture of a rooster that looks a lot like yours. I have posted the links below. The first link goes to the Ameraucana breeders club scrapbook. We have a Rooster that has the shape like your Ameraucana but he is not of the correct colors to meet qualification to be an Amercauna so he is an Easter Egger. He is a Big Boy and that is what we call him. Another reason our Big Boy is not qualified as an Ameraucana is because he has the wrong leg color. His legs are green.

He is definitely a big boy. And a gorgeous one at that.

I Cliff B, nice to meet you. I must say you have some very beautiful girls & boys I suppose. Hens or Roo's they are beauties. Please tell me what kind is the white fluffy one. I really like her. And are they good layers & what size eggs do they lay? Sorry for so many questions but I am looking to purchase chicks this spring. A BYC friend sent me a book but my oh my the decisions I have to make now. Lol

The white fluffy one is an early generation show girl. So far none of my girls have laid eggs. Still watching and waiting.
