My friend has a blue copper marans rooster that is not aggressive at all. she worked with him a lot when he was younger to try and avoid aggressiveness. She has 4 kids and didn't want to deal with a nasty roo. Don't know how much French the marans have in them tho. We got them off of Craig's list.

Polish are the long skinny white eggs. Not sure I had any of those in there. There may have been an off white one from one of my mixes. If so, it would probably has a small crest. Yes, I was following the breeds you have listed on your signature to figure out the ones with abbreviations on them. There are 4 that didn't have any abbreviations on them. I think one had an X on it and a couple had dates but I think 1 didn't have anything on it and they are all a light cream color. I don't see any white ones from your set. I'm making a diagram to keep up with what breed hen laid what egg so when the chicks hatch I will have an idea (hopefully) of their parentage. I have the 24 I got from you, 4 Turken I got from a lady at the McD swap and the rest are from my barnyard mix, EEs, Game and . For my hen's eggs I'm keeping up with what hen's egg it is or at least what coop and run (we have 3) the egg came from. I know once they start hatching I won't be able to tell who is who on some but hopefully with some being Game some being EE's and some being Turkens I will be able to figure the others out.

Will be adding a few more tomorrow. These are my blue, green, olive and 4 Swedish flower eggs. Oh, and 2 from my polish! There are also 10 duck eggs in the other bator that will be hatching also! My own bator is also full! oh me! Crazy Chicken Lady gone wild!

I'm actually overrun with eggs atm myself :)

What I was thinking is if anyone wanted to buy your eggs, etc, I wouldn't mind picking them up from you and bringing them to the swap for you.
 
We've never had a FBCM rooster give any person a hard time. Some of our others have been a different story but not the Marans.




And on to the matter of the Dealer/Broker Licenses from the Swap on Feb 14:

Apparently the weather was the biggest issue. Between their own schedules and then couriers not running in bad weather, the gals that were at the February swap still have all of the paperwork with them. I was told that there is a concerted effort being made to get them hand delivered and finished this week but the main thing is ... they have them and are going to be getting them done soon.

If you did all of your paperwork that day, you are covered and legal to sell birds. If you are going to the next swap on March 14th, the gal from Ag Dept has the list of everyone that did theirs at the February event so you will not be made to go through it again.

Patricia was wonderful when I spoke with her and I feel certain that we will all have our paperwork on file very soon. (So the checks should be deposited soon, too.)

CLiff ... can you please pass this information on to anyone that is not a BYC regular.

I'm about to go crazy with my humidity in the hatcher.

Anyone else getting crazy-high readings?? And I don't think it's the hygrometer as it drops as soon as I take it out of the hatcher. But I just dumped all the water out, hand dried the base AND the screen, and it's still reading 60+%!
