YO GEORGIANS! :)

I've decided to start setting eggs on Sunday or Monday from now on. This weekends-glued-to-a-view-window is for losers.

:lau

Seriously though...

That looks like some kind of silky cross.
I'm starting to wonder if that is what it is. I didn't set any of my Silkie hens eggs and the only eggs I did set from my flock were BSL, RSL, RIR, Gamefowl and EE. I do have a white bantam size EE so maybe that is her off spring and it's daddy is a White Silkie Rooster.

The chick is even paler today so I think it will be white with some black spots. I do love a good mystery!

Here is the white EE hen I was talking about.

ok, so I have just popped out a yellow chick, too! It has exactly one black tail feather! The only hens I have that are white and black are my splash Isbar and my frizzled Naked Neck. The Isbar came from a very reputable breeder in FL so I don't think one of her chicks would throw 5 toes! The frizzled NN could have non-naked neck chicks, but I have never seen 5 toes on anything from her. I am still wondering where my little 'Sunni' came from. She started out yellow, looked like she was going to be white and then became orange! Both the little white chicks I hatched came from colored eggs. ok, so I just looked at my records. My white chick with the one black feather did hatch from my frizzled NN egg. (Blue egg). These NNs came from a lady in South Carolina. I wonder if she had Silkies or Salmon Faverolles? Silkies wouldn't give you LF, so maybe it has some Salmon Faverolle in it somewhere? Well, I did say they were barnyard mixes!
The chick is cute and I think it's one that I looked at the wing feathers the afternoon of it's hatch and it had the staggered feathers. Oh I hope it is a girl!

Here are a few pictures from this hatch. I just love the little NNs!

Hello I am in Byron Ga are,
A friend of mine has 10 good laying hens and 15 roosters he wants to give away, because he is on the road a lot and last week his truck broke down and he couldn't get home to feed his chickens and he was worried about them and had friends go feed them, They are Bantam/ Cochin mix ....he would like them to stay together is possible, and doesn't want to go to the local flea market to give them away because A lot of people going there with fight the roosters they buy, horrible...and he wants a good home for them
