are you getting any blue eggs yet? I'm pretty convinced I'm going to get white ones first since the leghorns are submitting to the rooster, the ams and aussies are still in the "get OFF me" frame of mind

No :( I don't think mine will EVER lay. Nobody is even getting the slightest hint of pink. I so hoped coming home from FL would find one or two had blossomed a little, but in fact I think they've back pedaled :/

all three of the leghorns are dark dark red in the comb and wattles now, and I've seen at least two of them submitting to being mounted, it surprises me really I don't have any eggs yet.

My barred rock did the same thing. Once I got rid of the hateful AM roo she started laying, lol!

Don't worry, when I get my first olive OR blue egg you guys will wish I hadn't. :lau

For those who keep ducks put UP, can anyone take in my Mallard girl? We came home from vacation to find her wing injured.

I have been just giving the wait-and-see approach, and she is actually a little better each day.. She is going to make it, I have no real doubt at this point. EXCEPT, that I just sat here and watched her narrowly escape a hawk right here in the front yard. And given the area of injury I believe that's the culprit for original injury.

She has lived here for years without incident, but now that she can't fly I know her days are numbered. She's a sassy little thing and I hate to see her go out like this. I don't have anywhere to keep her long-term but if someone can take her in I can kennel her for a bit.

She is a super broody little thing and has tried at least four times this season that I know of but can't find a safe nesting place.

Anyone?

I would take her if I was closer to you. I'm sorry all of that is happening to you.
