YO GEORGIANS! :)

My DH called me a freak tonight cause one of my babies was scared and I put my hand down and called it and she came a running, they just don't get it

Before he passed, my rooster shed his spurs. They were about 4 or more inches long. Since I had both of them I had them made into earrings. You'd be amazed at how many people comment on them and their beauty.
I have a turkey in love with me who is jealous of everyone.

Haha! James likes to escape the yard when I open the gate. He remembers that he used to sleep in the house (and maybe that's where the mealworms are, too?) and he will follow me back and forth between their yard and the house. The other day, he made a beeline for the door, hopped up the steps, ran inside and jumped into the stock tank that is still sitting in my sunroom. Pretty sure he was expecting some treats for that. He's a character. The 3 newbies will all do it. He thinks it's hilarious to watch them follow me around. I don't think he expected that chickens seem to be smarter than they're given credit for. DH says he's seen it all at this point. The bunny stretching out on the couch with me when I'm crocheting or reading baffles him, too.

Hey, that's kind of cool! I make jewelry, so I need to remember this and see if I can come up with some cool design if, God forbid, something happens to my little sweetface.

Me! Hinesville Georgia! Wasn't born here though, been here bout 3 years, so no southern accent LOL

hello from Coweta co. I'm not a native either, but we moved here when I was a kid, so I have a slight southern accent until I go back to visit cousins. Then I come back sounding all mixed up for about a week. LOL
Ok, maybe it's 90% southern with the exception of a couple words here and there.

Well just got back from a vacation up north, saw some neat chicken coops, they even have ones with heated roosting bars. Got home to find that one of my older hens had died, and although she was not laying was company to my serama and bantam hen. They kept each other company and warm together, so now would like to find @ 6 month old bantam hen, one or two that are friendly, cold hardy and laying No rooster.. Anybody have any suggestions or anything available
Yes a transplant from the North, have not got the southern accent yet, ya'll Oh also the Confederate flag still flys and waves beautiful up north and the history continues to live on, with no one complaining.

Some of my younger siblings sound southern though

When I went up to visit the last time, my favorite cousin's daughter told me that my accent sounded like Honey Boo Boo. Pretty sure it's only because that's the only other exposure she's ever had to anyone with an accent. She has no other example to judge from.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. I don't agree with her observation, even if it was funny when she said it.

I remember I got grounded the first time I said "ain't" or "y'all". It was only for a short while. My Dad told me not to come out of my room until I could speak proper English. Obviously, that did nothing to curb it.

I'm a transplant too, been here for about 20 years, people still think I'm a northern, lol

I have to say, I thought you were, too. I don't recall you sounding like a native at all.

I'm fascinated by how all the different regional dialects sound. Like my friend from Augusta. Her accent is obviously from GA, but there's just something about hers that is slightly different and everyone else I've met who are from that region, all sound just like her. There's just something distinct about it.

MY BUILDING IS FINALLY HERE!
12' x 24', with 4 sections inside.

4 sections like this, each with a window, a door at floor level, and that wooden frame on the left, which will be great for a poop board under perches.

And, my 30 yr old donkey had a surprise baby! We had no idea til we were trying to put everyone in the barn, and she walked from behind the barn with her.
