YO GEORGIANS! :)

She has grown birds, I got birds that were already laying so hound her, lol

OMG love it, wish I knew you were going I would have come to see her.

I will take him and if you have an old wife I'll take her too but he will have the young pretty things to chase.

Will just wait and see if Mt laurel will answer, have sent her four emails. Found another potential called long post farm in south Ga, apparently they have a lot of various chickens and are needing to downside due to family health issues, wait and see who gets back to me. If anybody

Rita the Baby Donkey has her own facebook page if anyone wants to follow her growth. LOL, I needed somewhere to put all the pictures I know I will be taking.

In other farm news, my chicken building now has posts in for the pen.
It will be 30 x 42, with the house taking up 6' x 24' of that. We are putting the house half in, half out of the pen, with doors both in my yard and into the pen eventually.

I did put my 2-4 month old babies into their section, since I've had some issues with them being loose.
Lost 2 to hawks, 1 got stepped on by Momma Donkey, and one got her head stuck in the fence, then was trampled. Broke her neck.
So Flowerbh, I will be looking for more babies from you next spring!

We are definitely buying an incubator sometime this winter so I can even buy hatching eggs.

Are you also on Instagram? I have a fb account but I avoid it at all costs! LOL

If you decide to link an IG account to it, let me know because I will definitely like to follow this little cutie's progress! And I can't wait to see what you do with the building.

Squeeeee! That lil ol' baby is too precious!

Oh happy day! Pepper, of the swollen cheek, has just laid her first egg! Becky, you'll be interested to know she's an olive Egger. I was so excited, I had to rush on here and post a pic:
700

My husband asked if I was taking a pic just to post it on BYC......
Of course since she was on antibiotics up until yesterday, there's a 2 week withdrawal. Dang It! We haven't had eggs for so long, I want to eat it!

Yea! I'm so happy you got a nice color! You could cook it up for her (the chicken) and feed it back to her.

I am such a dork! Can I just tell you how excited I still get when I get lots of eggs from my hens!!! And, I've had chickens now for 3 1/2 years! At the end of the day when I see the basket full of colorful eggs, my stomach just tickles! Then, when I go to bed, I can't wait to wake up in the morning to see what eggs I get that day! I know, LAME! There is just something about getting eggs from your pets!

And, my friend has me hatching some of his Golden Cuckoo Marans eggs. (Plus some of my Naked Necks! Hush, don't tell DH) Due in two weeks.

So, I will have a bunch of chicks soon.

I think the one BCM chick I hatched 3 weeks ago may be a male. Would anyone be interested in it? I also have a cute little white/orange frizzle chick and I don't know yet what my Lavender Ameraucanas are yet. I am pretty sure I have a female Blue Ameraucana from Papa! Will keep you updated.

Some one on here wanted to know about turkeys, I contacted my neighbor and he has 2 toms for sale, one a big boy he is black and my neighbor said he would be good breeding stock, and then he has a brown one I can't remember how old but it was young, So to keep me from going back through all the posts which is like looking for a needle in a hay stack and virtually impossible, so if your interested I'll go out and take pictures.

Let me know when you have more for sale. I so want some BCM, but don't want just a male. Plus I wouldn't want to have one chick alone.

I have a friend looking to build his first coop. He has some cross ties that he had left over from framing a flower bed, and was wondering if he could use them as basing for his coop/run. Then he wouldn't have to burry 4x4s and such. Save time and money. My concern is IF they have creosote in/on them. Would that be an issue for chickens pecking at the wood, or even rubbing against them? I told him I would ask my "chicken people" and see. I believe he wants to lay them on top of the ground as his ground base and frame up from there
