YO GEORGIANS! :)

Why are you float testing eggs for hatching?  Hatching eggs should not be washed or float tested.  It washes off the protective bloom on the egg and makes it susceptible to bacteria.

How old were the eggs?  Did you store them point end down?  Turn them while you were gathering them?

I only have one rooster to all my 30+ hens right now.  I am waiting for my two Lav AM roos to grow up and do their thing.  I am thinking of doing a test run on hatching to see how fertile things are.  Also because I just had 2 calls for chicks and I only have one right now.  Waiting for next week for my new chicks!

I floated the eggs because a friend collected over a week (or more), stored on the side and never turned.

I think though one may be part polish. They were suppose to be all silkies, but one has feathers on feet like a silkie, but blonde beak and tophat. Face is slimmer. What would that make it? Sizzle, frizzle?

I am being tempted by bantam frizzled AND barred Cochins on eBay.

Be careful.. I ordered hatching eggs from someone on ebay over the summer for the bantam cochin and frizzles and out of 18 eggs I only had 3 that were fertile. The person I ordered eggs from was dpackrvt2015 and all she said was, sorry, try to order more in the Fall, I have a very low fertility rate this time of year.

If you know your eggs aren't going to be fertile or may have a very low fertility rate, why not mention that or not sell them?
