YO GEORGIANS! :)

well the bruise has spread into my foot, and though I really need to hit the recliner for at least a few days and prop it up, I just can't. It's still very sore and the foot and ankle are swelled as well

yikes. That sounds hellish. I got lucky. If I had fallen any further, it would have broken a second time. Just, in the opposite direction from the first. One of the screws was slightly raised a bit in the xray. I wasn't gonna go get it checked but when my husband said it looked "not right" and my boss said it looked like something sticking out, I went for an xray to see. Have you had it looked at? Sounds like you ought to, just to be sure. It looked scary.

you know you're opening yourself up for all kind of 'she's gotta screw loose' jokes, right? hahahahaha

well I haven't been to the doctor, I HATE going to the doctor. No offense to the nurses we have here

so no, no one has looked at it. it's been since last tuesday, so that's what....10 days and it still hurts like crazy. Or maybe I'm just whiney.........

no that's not it, I actually do have a pretty high tolerance for pain with the back and leg problems I already have. Maybe that's why a normal person would have already been to the doctor, it would hurt worse for them, LOL

Well, it looked bad enough to me that I was alarmed. I'm not a fan of doctors either, but sometimes, you gotta. I just had my files from the arm doc sent to this guy for a second opinion so I could keep all my injuries in one place. LOL
Too bad you don't live closer, I'd refer you to my doc that fixed the ankle. He's pretty rad. He stitched me up so perfect that you can't tell I broke it unless I tell you or you are 2 inches away from it. I think you need to stay off it for a few days. ice & elevation. And really, if you don't do something about it, other things will be hurting from you over-compensating when you walk on it, etc. Do you really want that? Not trying to be bossy, just saying.

Only HERS are stupid because they're hers. We now have a trio but the male is just a yearling and doesn't have the fancy butt feathers yet. When he does, you are welcome to some for your jewelry making pleasures.

Ok. So maybe I'll not scroll past your posts anymore.

so beautiful! I've never actually seen a pea bird live-in person before!

ok I've been working on my newish bator.

After turning it around, and turning it over, this is what I found:

this is the fan and heating element out of a space heater. It definitely brings the heat up quick, but required a 6 inch or so hole cut in. He didn't block it off at all, just built that little cage around it. Sooooo, I'm of the mind, that it was bringing in too much fresh air for me to regulate the humidity.

I had a piece of scrap flashing, and built a box to close it off. Still not air tight, but much better than it was. If this seems to help, I will silicone around it and seal it off a bit better, if it's not helping any at all, I'll scrap it, cover the hole and order a new heater/fan to put inside.

here it is now:

oh and welcome back Katy, you've been missed

PapaChaz...this video shows a cabinet similar to yours with some PVC duct for recirculating your warm humid air. It might be something that would work for you.
In a kind way...go get your leg checked out!
