YO GEORGIANS! :)

Let me count my 4-6 week old RIRs. I've got a number promised (traded for a sheep) but more hatching out today at Eric's today :)
I'm trying to remember how many I have where right now.

We added another divider to my big pen yesterday, and the poor little silkies finally got out of their hutch and onto the ground.
They are with my grow outs, and so far so good.

The newest section is my random hens. red and black sexlinks, SLW, Barred Rock, Australorps, all with the roosters that couldn't stay in the bachelor pad.
Dillon the SFH, a lavender orp, a blue and a black Ameraucana. Basically all eating eggs :)

My other sections are RIR, and then the grow out pen for anything big enough to get outside but not laying yet.
The Lavender Ams have their pen, and the Black Am hens have their splash rooster for now. Later we will rotate in the blue rooster.

And the next oldest batch of youngsters are now in the coop, in the section without outside access for now. In a couple weeks they will rotate into the grow out pen, and the next group will move from the garage to the coop.

Hey, at least I think I have a plan...

I have 4 Black AMs chicks I hatched for Goldie that she left me to sell or trade. She just wanted the Blue ones. I could trade you for a RIR for the BK Ams. Let me know

Does anyone raise Welsummers? I got 3 chicks from a breeder a few months ago and one never did very well and subsequently my dog killed it in the yard, now the Welsummer has died and after this experience i will not be getting more birds from this breeder. I would love to find a Welsummer close to the age of the birds we are currently raising so around 6-12 weeks but at this point i would just like another Welsummer.

aww man. That's a bummer about them dying. I hope you find another soon!

I'm sorry I can't help you, but if you need some in the future I have 5 Welsummer chicks that I am raising right now. Once they grow up I may start raising some.

Question: I need interior design for the 10x20 (not a 17x20, least I got the 20 part right

) ideas, would you put something on the wood flooring? It's treated plywood, or just heavy shavings?

I would probably consider linoleum. for easy mopping and cleanup when it's time to do a deep clean. Work smarter, not harder!

I'm sick. I think I caught the flu from DH. I usually never get sick, but I have just worked myself to exhaustion lately and guess my immune system got weak! Aat least I have a good reason to stay in bed! What luxury!
