Yeah I wouldn't think they would "explode".. They could colic like horses I guess but then I wouldn't think they have enough mass to twist a gut.
 
Sold my entire flock of d'Uccles today. Got the babies off the porch and the ones out of the juvenile pen (where the mice/rats are) and I to the d'Uccles' old enclosure. This gets the porch babies more air circulation AND now I can leave the grow-out run open at night so the cats can get into it.

These are the silver laced that I hatched from the re-shipped eBay eggs (fertility was bum on the first shipment).. Looks like a (wonderfully) impossible ratio! I hope they turn out nice

Here she is with a cockerel who I'm *pretty* sure came from the "Black/Lav/Split" hatch from the same lady.. It was hard to keep those straight but given his age in relation to the silver laced, that's the only thing he could be. He's pretty cute too.

Srsly though, there were things I wanted to improve upon in my own flock, and I have found great sources for even better stock.. So it'll be ok
