YO GEORGIANS! :)

I'm having a hard time finding a reasonable price for an assortment of egg colors near me. I only found one person selling eggs near me and he wants 20$ for 12. Is this normal pricing? I've only purchased a dozen a few times but they were never over 5$. Any ideas?

I already have some brown and white eggs, looking for other (non bantam) colors (blue, green, dark brown, etc.) Would also LOVE some wyandotte eggs.

Thanks for any and all help.

Where are you? I sell hatching eggs. Normal price is $10 for the first dozen and $5 for each additional dozen. Mine are mixes. You would get all kinds of fun and unique chickens! Probably no two would look alike. All different colored eggs!

Feeling kind of sad. Sold my beautiful Lavender Ameraucana pair. The lady drove all the way from Alabama to pick them up! (A 5 hour round trip!) DH gave her a hard time about her 'chickenitis' LOL. I know she will take good care of them! And, here is something funny....my LA rooster's name was Cooper and this couples last name was Cooper.....so I guess it was a sign that it was meant to be. But, I really am sad about selling them! I got two eggs from the hen before I sold her, so hopefully can get another female!

So, down to two roosters, Beau, my huge Brahma, and Roger, my young Crested Cream Legbar. Hopefully, Roger will be as nice as my other roosters.

I think you are a bit to far for me. I am in the Chatsworth area. I'm just going to hatch some from mine and hope to get other colors later...

Other than that, I watch during the day who is in the nests.
I gotcha. I did come across a good pamphlet right after I made that post that told how to guesstimate which chickens would be good layers and not. Something about feeling between here and here, the width between here and here, etc. I think it was from one of the AL or GA extension offices. Good read.

We don't get trick or treaters either. DH puts a sign up at the entrance to the driveway. Says, "Park here and walk to door. Watch out for bears and coyotes". (Driveway is .6 miles long. It's a long dark curvy road.) Lol!

I quit on the trick or treaters several years ago. It got to where Moms would bring packs of kids in cars from outside our neighborhood before it even got dark. I understand that, but sheesh. What stopped us though was the "grown men" showing up that were 6' tall, no sign of a costume carrying Walmart shopping bags looking for free candy. When I say grown men, I'm talking 16, 18 years old, bigger than me. I gave them candy because I didn't want my windows busted out or my vehicles stolen. No more for me.
