YO GEORGIANS! :)

Wow! I have been out of the loop for a while. I've been doing college stuff, working full time, and being a full time mom. I had to come back because I missed you all and because I have a hatching dilemma. You see, I thought that one of my hens had been taking notes from my ducks and hiding her eggs. It turns out that she had some help from a 10 year old that wanted her broody to hatch some eggs. Well, we encountered a problem when said hen decided not to be broody anymore. I have the eggs in the bator but I can't tell how far along they are. They are ameruacana australorp mix and I can't see through the shell. I'm guessing that they have to be 14-16 days because of the air sac size. I will try to candle and post a pic tomorrow.

My Baby made it and is doing well!!!! So, I was going to name her Honey because of her coloring, but I may name her Halo instead because she definitely is a miracle baby to me! Really, she was limp and lifeless when I pulled her out of the water. After I squeezed her like a sponge a bunch of times and water gushed out of her mouth, I literally pumped her stomach with my fingers until she started breathing again. I kept telling her to fight, that I wanted her to live!
I prayed and got a wonderful answer....here is a photo of her last week. she is my mystery chick. Was suppose to be a Lemon Orphington, but is not. She has feathered legs and dark gray legs! I will try to get a new photo today. She has so many more feathers now. So happy she is alive!!!!!

Just got my new SLW. She looks like she has a lot more white on her front than I was hoping for, but I was told she would grow up pretty. She is really calm. Came from a family with 6 kids! I guess she is used to being held! We named her Lacy, of course.

Little blurry.

Too cute! Lacy kinda looks like my Lulu. Lulu is a game mix - though I have no idea what she is mixed with, lol. Pics below:
