Are the cochins full size? If so, I would like to buy a female to add to my mixed group! Or get some eggs from you......

No, actually the cochins are bantams, but they are not tiny. I'll try to get some pictures tomorrow. You are welcome to any eggs that I have, maybe we could trade a few. I also have Lakenvelders. They lay a really light cream colored egg, medium to large eggs. They are mainly egg producers so they aren't big, but I like the black on white contrast. I have a pair of golden phoenix, they're not supposed to be bantams, but they are a small chicken.

Rocky, Mylied--how are your hatches?

Well, 20 of 26 have hatched and are doing great. 5 of the remaining 6 eggs are pipped and I can hear chirping. I don't have a lot of success with late hatchers, most never make it. I'm still hoping that they make it, but whatever happens, it's been a good hatch overall. I have another dozen due to hatch Sunday, and I'm reloading the incubator Friday. I should have 2 dozen Lakenvelder eggs to set this time. I wish I had some Silkie eggs to set. Where did all the Silkies go? I have been looking for Silkie eggs nearby to avoid shipped eggs. Lookin', lookin', lookin'.
