YO GEORGIANS! :)

I live in Newton County. We have White Leghorns, Buff Orpingtons, Silkies and a Cuckoo Maran. We also have some 2 week old New Hampshires, Easter Eggers, and Buff Laced Polish. I'm obsessed with my chickens. I think my family is beginning to get jealous.

Greensboro, GA here! Half way between ATL and AUG...

I have some Welsummer hens about 1 1/2 yrs I want to sell/trade and two roosters, one Ameraucana/EE 1 1/2 yrs and one Ameraucana/Welsummer not quite a year old.

Looking for some more Ameraucana chicks/pullets.

Anyone have any nearby?

reason #564 to get the pop doors cut...chickens would have put themselves up if i had the ramps and doors working then all we would have had to do was shut the doors. haha heavy rain is always fun

Thanks you...and do you have the website for that hatchery south of you or a phone number? I would like to check them out.

Where do you get your chickens from? Do you hatch all your own or buy from the hatchery or someone else?

Thanks

D.L.

In the last month I've had 4 hens go broody. Since I had plenty of eggs I decided to let them set just to see how it goes. The first one killed all 6 of her chicks as they hatched. I'd check the eggs and could not see any pips or zips. Then I'm come back a few hours later to find a dead chick. I don't have access to an incubator so I couldn't take the eggs from her to finish them out. She's been tagged and noted for next year.

Two other hens were a week behind #1 and the first two hatched today. This one is a much better momma.

I've got Barred Rock, EE and Red Sex Link hens and Barred Rock, Ameracauna and Black Cochin roosters. So the mix will be interesting to see.
