YO GEORGIANS! :)

Maybe the rain will stop for a while long enough for me to get my run & coop clean. I have a group of 22 middle school 4H kids coming to see my chickens and ducks on Tuesday. What was I thinking when the County 4H Agent asked me to do this?! It will be good for the kids that aren't around poultry to get to see them up close. No one is allowed in the coop and run. That is off limits. I just still want it clean because of all of the rain we've had. I would be doing it even if they weren't coming simply because my chickens are going to need a boat and a paddle because of the rain.

Hey! I'm in Plainville too! :)

I'm in Ball Ground, GA. I must say, all of this rain is awesome. I don't know the last time I watered my garden, and it is thriving!
Yes, I've watered my garden only twice this season, but my garden can't take much more rain. Most of my plants are turning yellow now, and my tomatoes are burting open from too much water.

He was doing this again this morning. I think all 5 of them are taking turns to see who can wake the entire countryside;) I can hear them now, "Oh wait, my turn now. Wait til you hear this one!" The girls must get tired of it too. Every once in awhile I will hear a crow that is abruptly cut off and sweet silence for all of 1 whole minute. They start at 5:30am and stop around 7 o'clock am. I tried to tell them that we don't have to get up til 6:15 am. I don't think they believe me. Lol.
Haha! This is exactly why I made sure my pen was as far away from the neighbor's house as possible. My rooster isn't loud enough to wake me up (yet). If the wind "blows just right" and your neighbors complain, just hand them a large pack of earplugs and tell them your roosters send their sincerest apologies for the loud contest. They'll be alright. lol.

I love having conversations with my flock. I swear it's like they can understand me. And I love thinking up what they might be saying!
