YAY! I've not hatched bantams yet-can't wait to see your pics!

So my bantam Seramas hatched. Got 7 out of 11 that were fertile! They were so small! My friend came and got them yesterday! As of right now I have 19 out of 27 from my own eggs! More are pipping as I type! These eggs were from 10 different breed hens and one 19 week old rooster! yea, 19 weeks old! He really did his job. We did rehome him because we rent our home and he just made too much noise, plus this 'activities' were non-stop and some of the city renters didn't like that. oh well, I have lots of new babies! So far I have 4 Naked Necks, bunches of Easter Eggers and a Frizzle or two and one Croad Langshan (egg from FLorida)..

Here is an observation about this hatch.

I had decided to do the egg carton hatch. I had two rows of eggs in cut down cartons. All the air sacs facing me. (so I could see all the pips easily). One row on each side of the bator. One row was closer to the wall of my room and one was on the side of the open room. The eggs in the carton on the back side near the wall all hatched out Thur and Fri. The eggs from the carton on the side of the open room are hatching now. Apparently, the back side of the incubator near the wall stayed warmer than the front side and that is the reason for the time difference....even within that small space! Very interesting!

the 7 bantam Seramas
Oh soo cute! Spring needs to hurry along so I can get started with the bantams and more hatching! Very interesting about the hatching-amazing how it varies in the small space of a bator. Is this your last hatch for the year?
I have a week to go on my game eggs. Down to 20 from 36, but all 20 have movement. I'm getting that nervous, anxious feeling already.
I do have to build a coup this weekend. A dear friend is bringing me 10 black bantams- he didn't tell me the breed, just that they are solid black. Can't wait to see what they are.
Hope you get everyone out of those eggs all safe and healthy today-remember to step away and breathe a little!

And pass that info back to me next weekend!

Okay I've had to cull a chick and now I have a severely injured Welsummer gal only 16wks old. Everyone has got along great no issues. I went to tend the coop today and noticed she was off by herself, her legs crumpled up underneath her and stumbling as she tried to walk. I went over and saw she had been ripped to shreds from tail feather to legs, bloodied good. Hubby said he saw the Buff OP and another going at her yesterday off and on but did not realize the severity. I've sprayed her with Iv and have her isolated in my sick ward. She is drinking and ate her scrambled eggs. I am more than open to any suggestions, she is in bad shape.

Thanks

The little Serama's are here and all settled into their new brooder box. Everyone even has a name now, though we tried to make them as unisex as possible since we can't guess their genders yet. They are so adorable and tiny!

This is Twizler. S/he has the biggest personality and when we open the brooder S/he comes running straight to us to see whats going on.

Twin of Twizler is Licorice! This one is more laid back then Twizler. Very mellow little bit.

Here is Sammy. The second littlest of the flock.

This is Riley.

Adorable little Alex.

Parker, the largest of the babes.

Last but not least my personal favorite (even though I love them all!) the runt, Haiden.

Haiden did not want to stay awake long enough for a photo op!
