I was thinking about that also. The run is pretty secure 2x4 welded wire sunk about 6 inches and barbed at the bottom. Can't make up my mind, but $200 price tag helps make the decision easy.

When we first gt our coop and pen set up I lost a number of birds. It was horrible. I was convinced I wouldn't have any left. I ran lines over the top of the pen and put out two have-a-heart traps and haven't lost a bird since. Caught a number of opossums in the traps. Once the predator type birds have young-uns to feed we'll see how much of a deterrent the lines really are. They break up the flight path but don't close all of the gaps.

Speaking of hawks.. We saw a BIG OL' red tailed on the way home from church.. Scooping up a squirrel for lunch. Always awesome to see!
