YO GEORGIANS! :)

I am in NYC. My poor daughter from FL left her house at 3 am and should have been here with us at 2 pm. Many flight delays and sitting on runways for hours! It's now 10:30 pm and she is still sitting on a runway in Washington, D.C.! She is so mad. Wasted the whole day she could have been having fun with us! Hope she gets here soon!

....Aaannnddd...speaking of gladiator games...

The last of my trio of nasty EE roos left the farm last weekend; I got so caught up in ducky and bunny business I missed reporting his departure. That, and I was too mad at him

He had mellowed out a lot after his brothers left for the auction and he got an AM hen and a Guinea hen for company. He was very gentlemanly with them and not a feather was ruffled all around. Until I tried to let them out to forage together. He immediately and relentlessly attacked me no matter how far I backed away; bruising the snot out of my legs. While I was on vacation, he wounded abmaddox (who accurately reported that all three of my roosters are homicidal maniacs.). I can let the other two out to forage with their girls without an outright attack; they only react if someone gets too close to them or gets closely between them and the hens, and even then only your shoes are in danger of pecking. ok, and they kind of flip out if you take their feed or water out of the pen. That's more aggression than I'd like, but it's at least manageable. Not so the nasty EE. He continuosly is out for blood if he can reach a human. I tried to give him one last shot before I caged him up for the auction. I picked him up with his wings under my arms and his feet secured gently but firmly in my other hand. He very promptly pulled a move a snapping turtle would be proud of: he stretched his neck way out and bit my lip enough to make a decent slice from the inside of my lip to the outside and a trailing scratch a couple of inches long. Hopefully the scar fades quickly, and his new owners wear football gear when handling him.

Oh no! I hope they have a good cocktail service on her flight. Weather delays?

I usually get a pretty even mix of males and females, but there is always a chance you could get a lot more of one than the other.  I also have chicks available, and there is no guesswork that way.

I'm in the savannah area, so a little too far to drive, but who knows. I might just be that desperate in a couple more weeks.
