nonForsyth as in the city half way between Macon and atl.Yay!!! Are you in Forsyth as in Cumming, Gainesville, Sugar Hill etc.?
Hey all! My girls are 17 1/2 weeks old. They will be 18 weeks on Sunday. I assume they should start laying soon. Do I need to do anything special other than give them some nesting boxes with some straw or shavings? Do chickens lay anytime of the day or is it mostly first thing in the morning?
We also recently built a chicken tunnel giving them access to the backyard, so they have TONS of space now and seem much happier. We still haven't finished our big coop though. There have been so many other little projects that we have had to deal with. Comes with the territory of buying a new house. haha Hopefully soon. For now they are in a smaller coop.

Anyone else's chicks do this? Seems like any time I have babies in this long brooder, they stay wayyy down at the far end from the light. Granted, underneath the light is a bit warm, but I have a thermometer at both ends and where they are is only 85*. I don't really worry for them, just think it's strange. They still do normal chickie baby stuff like eat, drink and play and sleep..
