YO GEORGIANS! :)

I only keep a few in a kiddie pool. They sleep in the pin with the chicken at night but its great!
I thought that ducks and chickens shouldn't be kept together. I can't let our chickens free range because of predators. Our neighbor has a large pond, and I'm afraid our ducks would choose to relocate there if we raised them and let them run loose. My only other option is requesting yet another coop from poor DH. His plate is already overflowing with projects. :/

Mine free range....they just sleep in the same house they dont bother each other. I dont know why they shouldn't I'm new. No like the litle smiley people hiding under chairs or eating pop corn

This lady says to worm your chickens when you have poo on your eggs. Can anybody attest to that?

I am in Thomson as well. We Started with 6 chicks the start of March I think it was and somehow have 19 chickens/ducks now and putting some eggs in an incubator this weekend. It is crazy chicken math!

My ducks and chickens were hatched together. They house together and eat together, but in the morning, the ducks come to the gate and I let them out. They spend the afternoon at our lake. At night, they come back to the gate and go back into the coop where they are safe.

I don't have a lake, and I'd really prefer they stay out of our pool. LOL

Hey all! My girls are 17 1/2 weeks old. They will be 18 weeks on Sunday. I assume they should start laying soon. Do I need to do anything special other than give them some nesting boxes with some straw or shavings? Do chickens lay anytime of the day or is it mostly first thing in the morning?

We also recently built a chicken tunnel giving them access to the backyard, so they have TONS of space now and seem much happier. We still haven't finished our big coop though. There have been so many other little projects that we have had to deal with. Comes with the territory of buying a new house. haha Hopefully soon. For now they are in a smaller coop.

You just need to provide them with a good quality layer feed and offer them crushed oyster shells. Hope you start getting eggs soon!!
