YO GEORGIANS! :)

And I have missed your adoration. You have no idea how mean GAM and carcar are in real life.

:rolleyes

Carcar-don't give up on those eggs that set out so fast! I took 2 1/2 week incubated mille fleur bearded duccle eggs out of the bator to give to the MFBD pullet when she was pretending to go broody. She ignored them, they stayed out in the nest overnight and cooled. The next morning I snuck them under the true broody that ended up leaving them when her oldest chicks needed food and water. I stuck them back in the bator when they WERE In lockdown under her; they joined the others in lockdown in the bator AND BOTH HATCHED even after all of that!

Aww, thanks :) The problem was, these were already "assisted", and were also already several days late.. And so were sitting, topless, out of the bator all night- not even with moist paper towels over them. Anyways, Iike I said I will not be staggering sets OR assisting hatches anymore. Especially when they're already so late/doomed..

Moved the littlekins to the Big Kid Brooder tonight.. Now they REALLY look tiny! LOL. BUT they don't seem any worse for wear after their high-temp incident today. :)

My 2 week old EE's and Barred Rocks! They seem to be doing well with the heat, it's stayed nice in our garage. My Jersey Giants are peeved that they get locked up during the day in their run, but I just can't risk them roaming around the yard. They're not bright enough to get out of the sun.....

Our First Egg!

Ok so it didn't come from one of the chicks we raised but the new Maran hens we got on the 30th. Still though, so excited and it is a beautiful egg too! My teen washed it off before I would tell her we are going to incubate the eggs we get this coming weekend so they need to be left how they are and put in a cool dry place till then.

Awesome! I am so happy for your DH! LOL! We didn't get an egg today. Maybe it was just to stinking hot...
