YO GEORGIANS! :)

Well that's what I'm hoping and it's my gut feeling. I guess I just want to hear others agree with that sentiment.. Or see if anyone doesn't.

seems odd though at just 2 years old, but it can happen

Funny thing is.... I caught another one just like it later. For scale... other than my big mitts...... that rattle trap is the smallest they make.
I caught one like that once bass fishing with a worm carolina rigged. The hook came out the top of it's back, like the artificial ones you can buy. I peeled the worm off and threw it back in. didn't catch anything on it though.

weirdest thing I think I ever caught was a big old bugle mouth carp on a carolina rigged salamander. I thought they were just grass eaters........LOL

I had my best roo do that he was fine pacing the pen waiting to go out and I let them out and then my DH went out a couple of hours later and said he was dead, no marks no blood just dead

Came back out to her coop with my flashlight. I found a small spot of blood about five inches higher up the post from where she was laying. By gosh I'm thinking I've got a freak accident on my hands. It was dry but not "old" dry. Still red and I was still able to scrape it with my nail.

Hmmmmm...

I almost forgot to tell you all my Java bantam is hatching her 5 chicks we have hatched 2 and 3 pipped I'm so glad someone around here has better luck I can't wait till I get my other bator fixed.

I know! Everyone came down from their roost to help me investigate (NOT because they think I have food).. I just know they were telling me.

I lost one of my Blue copper Marans hens like that she went in to the nesting box and just died no signs of any wounds I have no idea she was just over a year old

Was she a big girl? Reading about fatty liver hemorrhagic syndrome, it's very common for them to hemorrhage while straining, such as laying an egg.

That was why I thought maybe if that was the case with with Olive- just the strain of hitting the wall maybe? Or getting out from under the roo?

I will miss her being such a royal pain. Every time she was out she was into trouble. I could always just walk up and scoop her up under my arm, too. She was the sole survivor of my very first flock- the rest of which was killed by dogs.
